What to Expect at WOIBC

What kind of church are you?
We are, without apology, an old-fashioned, independent, soul-winning, Bible-believing, mission minded local Baptist church with many ministries to serve you and the needs of your whole family.  No matter your age we have something for everyone!  We have a strong Bible-based teaching ministry and believe in saturating everything we do in the Word of God. You will hear hearty “Amens!” and verbal praise to God in our worship services.

What Bible do you use?
We believe and use the King James Bible.  If you do not have a bible, we will provide one for you to use during the service.

What kind of music does your church have?
Here at WOIBC we cling to the old ways emphasizing traditional, Christ-honoring hymns and songs. We sing from hymnals and our church has hearty congregational singing. Our music is conservative yet lively rather than contemporary.

What should I wear?
Although WOIBC is an old fashioned conservative church, Pastor McAfee is more concerned with your spiritual state than your appearance. You will notice most of the women choose to wear modest skirts or dresses and the men in suits or dress pants, but we want you to feel welcome however you are dressed.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?
We do not invite you here for your money.  Here at WOIBC we DO NOT pass an offering plate during our services. As our guest you are not expected to give.  We want to be a blessing to you and your family regardless of your financial status.

What if I want to give?
You are not obligated to give, but should you desire to, there is a giving box located in the back of the church. Should you desire a tax-deductible receipt, simply put your offering in an offering envelope and fill out the front of the envelope. At the end of the year you will receive a receipt.

What about my children?
Starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child!  Every Service – At every service there is a safe, clean and highly staffed nursery for children two and under and a children’s church for age’s three to eight.

Sunday School (9:30 A.M.) – In addition to the nursery, we have classes for children and adults. The classes are dismissed after the general assembly and each teacher will guide their class to the proper room.

Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting – In addition to the nursery, we have youth ministry for children 4-12 years old.

What kind of spiritual education do you offer adults?
We have Adult Sunday School where we cover many subjects of the Bible and a verse by verse college level bible teaching through the scriptures on Wednesday nights.  We also offer a Basic Bible Beliefs class for new members and new Christians.
